I did a TCA Peel on myself and another lady who is about 10 yrs older. Both are loving the results.

We are on week one after the 2 layer peel should/can I use the Lemon zest to remove all the dead skin that seems to have a hard time letting loose:) or wait till the 4-8 layer peel next week?

I always seem to have this one area on the left side of my face, nose/cheek area that always looks like a rough patch, orange peel! If I exfoliate to much it looks the same or if I'm dehydrated, or not exfoliate enough? It seems to be a tricky area to get right. Any suggestions??

I had another Cosmologist tell me I had thick skin and it sounded negative? Is that necessarily a bad thing. I know I don't want thin skin?????

Thank you again

I will do a non-acid enzyme if the flaking is getting annoying - not the lemon zest but the Coco/papaya.

TCA is a different protocol than lactic or glycolic.  I let the skin rest after a TCA peel and would wait longer than 2 weeks between. Revisit your protocols, or contact Skin Script directly for clarification.

That is interesting about the rough patch that you have only on one side.  I would suspect rosacea...but there could be any number of causes or conditions.

It sounds like you used the 2-layer peel as a pre-peel for your more intensive peel, is that correct?  I have not studied Skin Script's protocols in a while, but my instinct would be to space 10-12 days between the two.  No more than 2 weeks, though, if you want to have that pre-peel effect (especially with the lighteners that are included in that peel).  If it has been 7 days, you have the green light for an enzyme/mild acid, as long as there are no prematurely exposed (picked/pulled) or otherwise red/sensitive/irritated areas.  If there are, you should use enzyme-only instead.  Go back to retinol now so that your skin is optimally prepped for your stronger peel next week.

I'm wondering if you could post pictures of the area on the left side of your face?  Do you know if there are any aggravators, such as sleeping on that side of your face?  If you have not already, cut out all dryer sheets and fabric softeners used on fabrics that touch your face!  It sounds like an area where the intensive peel will really do the trick, as long as you are careful not to pick or rush the peeling.  Ice may be beneficial, but if it is more of a hyperkeratinized area, the peel will be the best thing for it.

I'll see if I can post some pictures. It seems if my skin is really dehydrated it looks orange peely. I can only exfoliate 1x a week or it makes the area worst. Ugh!!!! Skin issues, so much fun.......

Its not hyperkeratiized,  let see if I can get a picture up tonight or tomorrow sometime.

Thank you

HI Tracy,

Dave here...I'm responding for Lisa, as she is out of the office.  I would suggest that you use a gentle enzyme like Raspberry/Peach or Coconut to remove the last remnants of flaking skin post TCA. Focus on hydration at this point. That will help the rough area to soften and complete the process.

Could the Cosmo be meaning that you have resilient skin? Yes, you do not want to have thin skin. Support with moisture. Think about using our Ageless Hydrating Serum along with our Vitamin C/Green Tea Serum under your chosen moisturizer.

Hope this helps!

Dave

Thank you for replying. I used the Coconut on her tonight.. Her skin looks so good I can't wait till we are done with the series

I'm thinking my skin looks thick maybe kind of rough in some spots. I don't know. It definitely doesn't look think and fragile so that's a good thing:)

I am extremely happy to report that I used the Ageless Hydrating Serum and Hydrating Moisturizer and that rough spot is just about gone. So.............dehydration must be my issue? I can't believe the difference in my skin!! I've only tried the Ageless serum once in a while and never tried the Hydrating Moisturizer, big mistake.

Thank you it made a big difference
