Milias

Hello,

Can anybody tell me if there is any painless way to remove milias or if there is any treatment for it? I have a client that has them all over her cheeks, but can not take the pain when we tried to remove some.

Iliadys,

I soften milias with a salicylic acid application---cleanser or mask.  They can be removed much easier.  Also, I have used microcurrent to soften them prior to extraction.  Follow up with a product from Nutrient Skin Care called Nutrifoliant Exfoliating Cleanser Booster.  It is used with a cleanser to exfoliate and nourish the skin as well as prevent milias from re-occurring.

I go to my dermatologist to remove them from my own face. Very hard to remove. Even though I am a practicing Esthetician, I have yet to be able to remove them myself. I have not gotten any new milia though, since I have been doing chemica peels.

My dermatologist takes them out with a tool. It does hurt, but removes them right away. I dont know what tool it it though. Its been a while since I have had any so I am glad for that.

I would probably recommend a peel series to target them if it were my client. Like I said earlier, I believe the peels have kept mine away. You may want to try that.

I use a wonderful disencrustation solution with galvanic and then another disencrustation maks with steam.  It's kinda double dipping but it works SO well!  I also use a salicylic acid cleanser and mask. It really helps to dissolve them! Also, it's been so much easier since I've had the ultrasonic skin scrubber!

They should be removed by a dermatologist. Make sure they are using on non-comedogenic products.

Agree.  Most milias are product related.
