My 52 yr old client completed her 6 week series, but saw nice results just 3 weeks into it. She is so happy with the tone and texture of her skin and says she is spoiled from coming weekly. I could even feel the difference in firmness while I was doing her facials. Now I will continue this enzyme monthly with her.
The funny thing is she says she has had noticeable improvement in her redness since doing the series. I thought that was odd. She would get real red during the enzyme and I was worried it was going to be too much for her. I wonder if this has balanced something for her.
Anyway, I am in in the midst of researching more ways to stimulate collagen through diet and supplements so clients can get the best benefits and results.
Thanks again Lisa!

Robin: Great news! I love feedback like this. Here's my explanation as to why you are seeing an improvement on her redness.
We start to see red spider veins towards the surface of the skin when we have a breakdown in our rete pegs (or the papillary layer of the dermis). We start to see the veins that feed our skin nutrition as our collagen depletes. Now that you have made an improvement in the collagen, the skin is plumper and you don't see the veins any longer (or less visible). Make sense?
I look forward to your feedback on the diet and supplements. My thoughts turn to essential fatty acids (omega 3 and 6 fish oils) and Vitamin C for antioxidants (or juicing).
Of course. I wasn't thinking of thin skin, I was thinking of something else causing her redness. You know I hate to say it, but everything I learn in this business is from reading and experience, not from beauty college! Thanks again for your time Lisa.
That said, you should seriously consider visiting the Arizona office and attending Dave Waggoner's 2 day Skin-Tensive class. We just finished one this week and I still get very excited every time he delivers it. It's free and we provide breakfast and lunch. Well worth the trip to AZ! The next one is in September.
I agree with you about school. It gives you enough information to pass your state boards. On the school's side, I think there's only so much a student can retain during school. However, kudos to your continuing reading and applying that knowledge to your experience to find the best solutions for you and your client.
I would love to try to make that trip happen some day soon.
