I have a client that I see regularly tha has oily skin. Her face is clear, but so so oily. I see her once a month, and we Dermafile and do a peel. Usually the glycolic or cranberry turnover peel. I was thinking of doing both, the alpha hydroxy protocol that we have with skinscript. If I do that should it help with oil control? Can I Dermafile her as well? Please help.
Hi Madalene: Yes, I like your idea of the alpha beta (which is a layer of glycolic, removed, then a layer of Cranberry turnover 20% salicylic). For homecare, I would incorporate the Blemish Control Pads as her toner daily to help dissolve the excess oil. While she may not have blemishes, the salicylic will help control oil.
I usually add the hydrating products because skin producing too much oil often indicates dehydration. Introducing more water into the skin help balance oil/water AND helps the skin's natural enzyme production
