Hi!

I'm new to the esthetic industry. I need recommendations on vendors for purchasing essentials like gloves, headbands, brushes, 4x4's, bowls, etc. I'm looking for a one stop shop. Also, I need advice on the easiest/cost effective way to schedule appointments? Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Iris, I bought almost all of my start up supplies from universalcompanies.com. They're reasonably priced, not the cheapest but they have EVERYTHING so you don't have to buy from several places. Free shipping on all orders over $200. I also bought a few things from massage warehouse.com (fleece bed warmer, measuring beaker, etc.) I'm using Schedulicity for my scheduling software and so far am very happy with the features. It's $20/month. Best of luck!

Thank you for your feedback. It was very helpful!

Oh, and I got my towels at Costco. Great quality and very inexpensive! They sell packs of 12 white hand towels. Best of luck to you, Iris--we're gonna rock it!

Yes we are!!!! ;-)

While I can't help with the one stop shop (I tend to shop around for supplies,) I can help with the cost effective scheduling. I use style seat they have a FREE version (which is great to start out with) and a premium version which is only $20 per month. They send email and text reminders to clients and when the client has not been in for over a month they send an I miss you email. They also have credit card processing (though I have not used this function because I was already using square when they started the cc processing). They also have it so you can allow your clients to schedule themselves if you choose and it can be linked to your website and FB page.

When I started, I ordered almost everything from Universal Company. They had everything I needed. However, I didn't like the feel and thickness of the 4X4 guaze or the cotton rounds, so I got in contact with my Aveda instructor to find out where we got our supplies at school, and ordered directly from that company! I was going to share that with you, but I just drew a blank.... If it's something you really want to know about, if youre not happy with your product, let me know. I have that information at work! I am an esthetician providing services from a dental office! Lots of fun! Lots of Smiles!!

You can try Qosmedix or Universal. Cost-effective way to schedule appointments you can do through Google Plus/Calendars - but you want something to also help send reminders, I'd look into Schedulicity or Full Slate. They both provide e-mail reminders as well as text reminders, monthly can be less than $40 depending on what kind of package you opt into.

I am on several pro only Facebook pages and get tons of ideas from them. I just opened my biz a few weeks ago and bought bulk waxing supplies on Amazon (Medline), free shipping and it will be months before I need to order again. Also if you are a member of ASCP you get discounts on scheduling apps and I built my website free from them.
