I am certified for chemical peels, but have enrolled in two seminars to help me get started with PCA Skin. I'm looking forward to the in-depth education that will be provided.

Skin Biology & Chemical Peel Seminar and Peel Fundamentals.

Following the classes attendees are required to take/pass an exam to gain professional certification and access to ordering and using PCA Skin. This is a fairly large financial investment for these classes.

This line appears with some frequency in spas/medspas, but not necessarily as the only skin care line carried. At this time I am particularly interested in the PCA Skin products that are for peels.

I know there are many options for product lines to use for peels and have read about several on this site, but specifically I am hoping to hear from other estheticians who have positive experience with PCA Skin, especially for facial peels.

Thanks so very much!

Hi Sally,
I added PCA Skin to my practice in 2004 and could not be happier.
I have had very good results on my clients as well as myself. I love their anti-aging serums and eyeXellence. They have excellent support, education and service. The price you pay for education and certification is applied to product credit.
That's hard to beat! Another huge plus are the trial size products for purchase. No huge commitments. Hope you enjoy the classes and the product.

Best wishes,
Debrah

Debrah, I loved reading your post, and you are a long-term user, too. That certainly speaks well for PCA Skin.

Have you used any of the PCA peels?

Hi again Sally,
Yes, I do use their peels. I am not a huge proponent of peels but feel they have their place. I use peels seasonally as I live in brutally hot climate. The PCA peels I have worked with are the modified and enhanced Jessner's, Sensi, Ultra Peel 1 and 2, Esthetique and Pumpkin. You choose the peel according to your client's fitzpatrick, the condition you are treating and the condition of the skin to begin with. I keep three of these peels on my services but have most on hand. Even if I were never to do a peel, I enjoyed the classes that I have taken with PCA. Education is valuable and I always leave having learned something. As I said before, you can always get trial sizes with your product credit and see what you think. I try everything on myself first! Oh my the experiments my skin has seen!
Kindly,
Debrah
I did their class about two and a half years ago and am certified - was not impressed!  Still not impressed and don't use there peels - if you can get your money back, DO!

Chere -

I am thinking of taking their training as well.  Can you be more specific about what you didn't like?  The trainer?  The product line?

Thank you,

Julia in Woodinville, WA

You can purchase all their products on line any day of the week, so I wont pay to "stay certified" when clients can purchase PCA elsewhere.

If you are certified you can buy products for your clients wholesale and that becomes part of your income as you sell it retail; the same as they would have to pay online. I believe certification is for a 2 year period and when you do get recertified you get that put toward product credit. Not too bad a deal if you do like the product line.
