I've been an esthetician for the last year, but I haven't really used my license other than to do make up in the mall. I'm currently 5 months pregnant, so right now I'm not really looking to start anything new until after my baby is born in the late summer. What I am curious about is if anyone thinks it's a good idea to start somewhere like Massage Envy or Zen Massage. A few of the girls in my graduating class have ended up working there and from what I can tell, it's going good for them. Once my baby is born, I really want to get into it, as my main reason to become an esthetician (other than the fact that I love skin care & beauty) was so I could have a part time job with full time income that I could work around being a mother. If anyone has any advice, experience, or any other creative ideas, please let me know! Thank you :)

maybe go to a few local places and see if you can just shadow them for a week or so...unpaid and see what type of setting you like.  Since you are pg and probably not looking to jump into a full time job knowing you will have to take time off, this may be the best thing for you.  Keep on doing the makeup thing so that you have an income but see if some local places will let you shadow.  Try plastics ofc, derms, and even just regular day spas.  Another idea could be to rep a skin care line....may give you more flexibllity in working from home...although I know nothing about that...just a thought.

Good luck with whatever you decide and congrats on the little one :)

Thank you so much! :) Great ideas for when the time comes.
