Does the skin care line you are using have anything?  When I was on my own in a hair salon when I first started out, the line I was using had menu suggestions and descriptions based on the protocols of their treatments.  That's what we used.  They also had suggested pricing, but you have to be careful when you are starting out that you don't start too high, or too low.  Too high and people won't come, but too low and then you have trouble raising them.  For that, look around at comperable spas and price accordingly.

I would steer clear of copying someone else's menu.

What someone else has done wouldn't necessarily reflect what is special about YOU and your business.

And although MY menu still needs a lot of work, I am really tired of the same blah, blah, blah on the majority of spa menus

A good place to start is with your skin care line info as Jodi said.

Highlight the ingredients and benefits that YOU want to stress.

And keep tweeking your menu, brochure and website.

I have made many changes as I go...with prices, treatments, wording, etc.

Oh - and Jodi makes a great point about pricing...someone told me to set my prices just a little higher than I was comfortable with.  I can always run a special.  Don't have all of your treatments set at the same price... you can have a basic facial which would be your lowest price point, I don't list this one first, I list my most popular ones first. And I added several more expensive treatments.

Thankyou both so much for your advice... I'll let you know the turn out!! :)

We had this article in the Jan/Feb Skin Deep magazine that might give you some useful ideas: Zen Your Menu. It's really more about redesigning an existing spa menu for better results, but I think it's equally applicable to creating a new one.

You can also get a lot of great ideas by looking at how restaurants design their menus. Obviously there are going to be differences since it's a completely different thing that they are selling, but it is amazing to read about all the clever ways that a restaurant menu is designed to make people buy the most profitable items:

Definitely have menus and a website. On the site you can change it up frequently and post seasonal treatments. You can do what's called a rack card. To place outside your room. I order mine from zazzle.com. About .65 each and they have templates you can design yourself. Give a short description on the rack card nd leave the long explanation for your site and make sure the site is on the card as well. ;) hope this helps
