I recently spoke to a 27 yr. old female, who is experiencing constant erythema on forehead with dime size white spots – about six. She was told by a dermatologist that it is vascular and the white spots are the normal skin. He suggested she see her regular physician to be placed on high blood pressure meds even though she states her pressure, when taken, is usually lower than normal – never higher. Derm. also suggested she put Afrin (nose spray) on her fingers and rub it on her forehead. She states she did try this, but didn’t see any change.
After further discussion, client states she used to get hives as a reaction to stress. After one extremely stressful situation about a year ago, she had felt extreme warmth to her face and this happened. She also no longer gets hives. She does have a 1 yr. old daughter, but states this happened after the child was born.
Client also shows consistent flushing on cheeks and chin that worsens when she is overheated or drinks alcohol, which sounds like Rosacea, however the Derm. didn’t think so.
This information was all done verbally, I have not had the opportunity to analyze client under a mag lamp but wanted to throw this out there and see if it sounded familiar to anyone. Thanks!
