I'm just starting this because I thought it would be a fun and easy service to add. If you do this, can you please give me some tips? I am finding that glitter gets everywhere, including the surrounding area of the tattoo. Is there a way to block off the skin around where the tattoo will be? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I attached a picture below to show what I mean about the surrounding glitter. :)

This seems to be a trending service. At the Las Vegas trade show I can't count how many booths I saw of this nature. When do your clients request these tattoos? How long do they last?

Have you tried a cotton ball with toner or something like that to wipe away the remaining? I have never worked with the stuff so I am not sure.

Devyn, glitter tattoos are so fun!  It seems that a lot of people want to get these before they go away on vacation for just for the weekend.  I haven't had this problem with the glitter getting outside of the stencil.  Are you:  1).  cleaning the area first with an alcohol wipe?  2).  Using very little glue?  3).  There is a brush you can get to brush off any excess even before you remove the stencil.  It shouldn't be sticking or hard to remove after you've removed the stencil.  But I'm thinking you can just use another alcohol wipe to wipe away the excess.  Where are you purchasing all of your stencils?  I bought a starter kit at the Orlando Premiere show from Amerikan Body Art.  Hope this helps a little.....

Where can I find more info on this? I have  never heard of it before. I live in Maine and we are way behind but I would love to learn more and possibly offer this service in our salon.

Kimberly, go to amerikanbodyart.com; you will be amazed at all they have.  You can purchase henna as well.  It does pay to purchase a kit so you'll have a little bit of everything to get started.  Have fun on their website!

Thanks for all the replies. I figured out a way to make the glitter process less messy. I also learned that you can get Extra Fine Glitter at Michael's (or any craft store) for much cheaper. They have some stencils but I didn't really like them so I did buy the stencils online. There are a bunch of sites to check out, just google "glitter tattoo stencils".

I haven't had any client requests for them yet but it's also summer and everyone is just busy. I think this would be fun for when sports pick up again for kids. My nieces are obsessed with this so I know kids will love it. It was an easy service to learn and not expensive to buy so I figured why not do it.

I do glitter tats at fund raisers and girls night out parties...they are a big hit...the alcohol work great for any glitter removal
