Does anyone know the rate for an Eyelash Extensionist? For example, if you are working for someone else, what is the commission?

Stevie- I really think B curl lashes fit the most people and don't drag the eye down. Also key to not making the eye appear saggy you'll need to use shorter lengths on the edge. Natural cat eye shapes can handle a little longer.

My fav look , more natural looking is putting J's and B's. It really adds dimension! Check out premierlash.com ! They have colors too! I always up sell highlights!

I am so excited to find this lash specialist group.  I have been trained with Xtreme Lashes and can't wait to read posts on "trick of the trade" :) Megan

That def makes sense to me, using the same curl and three lengths! I can't wait to try it out! They are an art form for sure but I'm LOVING it! I love the detail involved & the look of the lashes as it comes together :) I wish I had J curls in my kit. Seems most of my clients have either-really curly lashes, really straight or just plain crazy/every which way lashes. Practice makes perfect they say ;) Thanks for you help & advice!

The curls are definitely used to fit the lash type best. You will want to use the same curl and three lengths to avoid that block look. Lashes are an art for sure. You sound like you have it down. Maybe an advanced class is in order for you to learn more about shaping and eye types? Every type of lash has it's own function for style and person. J's are used a lot but the length and lash has to be the right fit.

Cameo~So J's aren't as widely used? They taught use to use more than two lengths but not some much about shaping. I usually use 3-4 different lengths & B's & C's. Should I just use different lengths & stick to one type of curl? Though I think I'm doing a good job & so far my clients have liked them, most of the pics I see on other sites & the web, they lash line looks more uniformed?

How popular are the J's & what about shorter lengths, like 7 or 8? Thanks :) Stevie

Stevie- J's are more for really straight lash folks. Their lashes cannot be longer than an 8 to apply or point straight down like many asian lashes or else the extensions will hang and block the eye. 7 & 8's are more for shaping the inner and outer eye or to put on new baby lashes coming in (about 1/4 in). Did your company teach you shaping and to use more than two lengths of lashes??
