I perform dermaplaning on the dryer skin types, 40 plus or post menopause. Yes it removes the fine vellous hair, but the follicle is open to bacteria and could cause a breakout.  I tell my clients to use witch hazel am and pm and that usually keeps the follicle bacteria free.  I explain to my clients that have any significant amount of facial hair that they might like to wax in between sessions to avoid the stubble regrowth.  They usually don't mind and become addicted to dermaplaning!   In short...love it on dry mature skin types and as a prep before chemical services in resistant/sun-damaged skin.  Not a fan of dermaplaning for young or sensitive skin. Good luck!!

Dermaplaning is a wonderful treatment for exfoliation and vellus hair removal. My clients love it. Proper training and much practice recommended. Great add on for basic treatments also.
