I have reserved a room at my local Whole Foods market for an event at the end of October and am looking for some input on what to present.  I need to keep my subject in line with the Whole Foods philosophy of healthy eating with organic foods and was thinking that offering recipes for homemade masks prepared might be appropriate.  Any thoughts out there about this approach and do you have any other ideas that may be newer and more interesting?

Deborah -

What a cool idea.  I think the homemade masks would be good - there are tons of great ingredients in a Whole Foods store.  Other avenues might be nutrition - probiotics, etc and the benefit on the skin.  Whole Foods has a beauty section - you could talk about cosmetic ingredients, "natural makeovers"...  One last idea (and I am just brainstorming here) is to do an intro to essential oils & aromatherapy.

May I ask if you are renting the room to hold a specific class with folks already signed up, or hoping to get walk ins?  What do you hope your outcome will be?  Added clientele?

Let us know what you do & good luck!

Thanks Julia for responding.  Great ideas - I have the room reserved (at no charge) and will be sending invites out to my email list (not a very big list!).   I'm teaming with the new Umpqua Bank (next to WFoods) and will be able to promote my function with their customers.  My purpose is to add clientele because my practice is only a year old and I work alone so events are one way of getting my name out there!  I'm also working with an event planner to help me this time, she has lots of experience in the beauty business, Amanda Porta.
