I have a male client who asked if I did manscaping? He doesn't want a wax, just trimming of the hair. I really think this is something he can do at home and don't really feel comfortable doing anything below the belt anyways. Does anyone do just trimming? If so how much would you charge and how would you go about it? He is coming in this weekend and want to know how to phrase it professionally that I don't do that. Thanks for any help and responses :)

Hi Erica,

If it were me, I would simply say "I don't offer that service." Tell him he can purchase clippers with guides at Sally Beauty and do it himself. We get all types...don't we ?!

Good Luck !

Hi Erica,

No I do not offer manscaping and have been asked numerous times to offer this service. I believe this is an easy painless way for the client to come into your room and shed their hair every 2 weeks. Basically this is cutting hair and not within our scope of practice. You can use that to tell him the services you do offer but manscaping is not one of them.

Agreed. Try to upsell waxing instead, by highlighting the benefits as compared to simply trimming.  He's probably asking for trimming

because he is embarrassed to ask about waxing.  Most men are hesitant especially when it comes to waxing  in the Brazilian area. Just because he says he doesn't want to wax doesn't man he won't.  Turn it around and use your knowledge and skill to convert him.  Put

him at ease, let him know the first time is always the toughest, but the results will be worth it.  If you can get him to do it once, he will

be hooked and will never want to trim again.

Yep, you can tell the ones who just want their crown jewels to be touched by a young lady. Geesh.
