@Tara, yes those are issues I've written extensively about. Zinc oxide does have its shortcomings...the color (unless you get a tinted version) and it does have to be reapplied often...but really those chemical ones lose effectiveness sooner than they will admit. They only tell you to reapply less often because they know that applying more often is too dangerous because of the chemicals.  But they will never admit that.  Zinc oxide is also the only sun protection ingredient approved for babies under 6 months by the FDA.  Zinc oxide is my choice for sun protection for the body and in my facial day cream.

I came across this, I'd like to know what's your take on this?

"Your Sunblock May Increase Sun Damage!!! check the ingredients for oxybenzone – a common sunscreen ingredient – which boosts the production of dangerous free radicals in your skin after just 20 minutes of exposure to the sun !Natural zinc creates an effective barrier against the sun’s rays. And it starts working as soon as you put it on – not a half hour later like man-made chemicals.  ( Latest findings by University of California Research).

No problem Madeleine!  Good luck.

Thanks so much Rachael, that really helps.  I was thinking of checking with Osmosis to see how they felt about me offering an essential oil add-in (I am a certified aromatherapist as well).  But maybe in the room and in the towel water is scentsy enough.

I would love to hear from any estheticians who use two different product lines in their salon/spa. We currently have Dermalogica and the owner is talking of bringing in BioElements as well.

@Madeleine, I agree that some of the smells are not as pleasing as some of the others...that's because there are no added fragrances.  One of my clients did not like the smell of the Stem Factor at first, but got used to it and loves the results.  That product, as well as the Clarify serum are really the only ones I had to get used to.  The results for me have been so good that I don't even care about the lack of pleasant smells...some of the products actually smell good though...the cleansers that have bromelain smell tropical...but it is not overpowering.  You could try using an essential oil diffuser in your treatment room during your treatments...lavender is a fairly universally-liked scent and also has mild sedative effects...I did that even before I started using the Osmosis and clients never noticed any fragrance or lack thereof in the previous lines I used.  Regarding Osmosis, no one has ever complained to me about the scent during treatment...it has always been afterwards with the home care.  But I haven't had any returns because the results have been so good.

@ Rachael,  I am close to choosing Osmosis for my main line.  I love the products but I am not wild about their smells.  How do you find working with them... trying to imagine them during facials?  Do love the results though!

Thank you Rachael this is a line I know of & is on my list of considerations!

@Heather, I am a big fan of Osmosis...they have no minimum order and offer private labeling as well.  Natural ingredients but on the forefront of technology...I have had great results personally and my clients are very happy as well. Their Facial Infusion non-acid peel is also fabulous and can be customized, as can most of the other products.  www.osmosisskincare.com
