LED Light....I Wouldn't Be Without It!! 41 Replies

My first experience with LED was way back in 2003. It's kind of a funny story and I think I'll make a video and put on my website! Revitalight was my first machine. I got some great results, but after a while I couldn't handle sitting there for as…Continue

Help! I scratched client with dermafile! 31 Replies

I tried the dermafile on a client, while she was steaming with a SS enyme masque yesterday, and she had a large, round scar on her lower cheek that she was concerned about. She wrote me today and said this: "scratched an area in a line under where…Continue

It's been delayed to closer to the end of April....no later than that though. There always seems to be delays when making manufacture changes...we want it to be perfect though! It's funny, I keep getting emails like....I'm chomping at the bit to get my Celluma and I'm so excited to get it that I'm peeing my pants!! I personally haven't been so excited about a piece of equipment in a long long time. I'm having a blast with it. I've been taking it home almost every night (for my use!) and one morning I forgot to take it back with me. Oh my, were my clients pissy with me! It's very relaxing as well as effective.

Shelley- do you know when the new Celluma panels will ship?  Can't wait to try it:)

Good to know Cindy about the hammer not getting cold enough! I tried the beauty globes and the round shape was really awkward!

Comment by Cindy Greenwood on April 15, 2013 at 6:48am

I don't have a hot/cold hammer either.

But I am not sure that the cold hammer gets cold enough to use prior to Radiancy. I am using the little gel packs that you put in the freezer, but I am still so awkward with it!  I am wondering if those beauty globes or ice finger things would work.

The hot hammer would be nice to work products in, but probably a more effective piece equipment would be an ultrasonic head or galvanic...or if you have the bucks, the electroporation unit

Sheila...you are so correct, the hot/cold hammer is not in my toy box, so I'm not much help to ya'll on this one! I have been looking into it though for the cold to numb the skin before the Radiancy FSD. It seems to me that you would have to have some kind of product on the skin when using the hot and that it would be good and feel good for massaging in a product. Because it's just heat and cold, I can't imagine that it would have the same contraindications as most of the equipment we use (pregnancy, pacemaker, etc).

I have applied oil to my arm and tried the hot side and it feels great, I thought maybe instead of hot stones this could be good to get the skin warmed up and soften the pores for extractions but I wasn't sure.  Thanks for the tips!!!

Hi Sheila - I actually have a hot/cold hammer on my machine. I've used it to do eye zone treatments (the cold side). However, I was wondering the same thing about the hot side (how to use it and what to use it for). Shelley, maybe you have some tips? I also have a vacuum and something for wrinkles on the machine I am currently using. I've searched high and low on the internet for some demonstrations but came up with nothing.

SHelley, I know it's probably not in your arsenal but do you or have you ever used the hot and cold hammer?  I just attached mine to my micro and thought I would give it a whirl but was curious your experience.  I tried it on myse;f and it really does feel nice, the warm for relaxing and the cold for maybe post peel or something to sooth.  I was wondering if I should put somethong on the skin first like gauze and also would there be any contraindications for it?

Hi Gals...thanks for your questions. You can definitely do layers of TCA after Dermafiling...just know your clients skin before applying too many layers right off the bat!

My wonderful friend Lisa from Skin Script came up with Dermafiling over an enzyme. I only add the water because I do not do steam. If you are using a steamer with your enzymes, then you do not need to add any water, it's moist enough from the steam. I only leave the enzyme on about 3 or 4 minutes, because I spend most of my time with my toys! Again, just know your clients skin before using the file over the top of an enzyme....it's like you are scrubbing the enzyme into the skin. This could be a good thing or....it could be a really bad thing if the client has sensitive skin.

I'm a circle kinda gal! I like the circles for some reason but there are definitely places on the face that I do back and forth.

Love the treatment you did on your Mom!! Sounds like it smelled as good as it felt! :-)

I also have a dermafile question....can you apply 1-2 layers of a light TCA peel after? I know you can do a peel after a regular microdermabrasion treatment so would this be the same?
