Infection Control in your Spa/Salon

How to determine your clients phototype by using the Fitzpatrick Scale

Type I- Very fair skin, generally with red or blonde hair.

REACTION TO UV- Always burns, never tans

Type II- Very common skin type characteristic of fair-skinned individuals.

Protect your skin and eyes from UV A & B

One way to avoid too much sun exposure is to stay out of the sun between the hours of 11am and 3pm. The UV rays are the strongest between these times. If  you need to be outside, be sure to use a sunscreen with a 30 SPF (sun protection factor). And of course, wear your eyeglasses to protect your eyes! You will be glad you did as older age approaches.
