Was lovely meeting Kirsten yesterday at The Wax Show in Ontario, California! A lovely person and such a blessing for us to have a great company like ASCP help with liability insurance and all the other lovely things that they represent! Was nice meeting you again!…

Ingrown hairs around the bikini area as most of us know are caused by incorrect waxing, shaving and irritation/rubbing that clothing or our underwear can cause. There are many more factors, but I would love to share with you a secret solution (not that it will be a secret anymore!) that I highly recommend for you to retail in your salon and to also use as a take home pressie for your first time clients that might be susceptible to getting ingrown hairs. This company…

I was asked a very important question a few days ago by a fellow aesthetician in regards to "what are my thoughts when it comes to nose waxing". I knew the reason why she was asking this question. If some of you are not sure about why this question was asked you may want to take a look at this article.
My response to this was " I have waxed hundreds and I mean hundreds of nostrils for men who have…

If you are anything like me and just find it hard to chug down water .... maybe your clients that visit your spa are feeling the same way. Maybe, just maybe, they are tired of seeing the same ole lonely cucumber slices bobbing in their glass and wish for some variety!
If your water is truly impressive, maybe leave some recipe cards out on the table in the 'waiting area' with your business card stapled…

Does your Salon or Spa offer them to clients? Rewards programs are a great way to keep your clients happy and get's them talking about your place to other people. How is your Salon business doing right now? Do you feel that your team are constantly cat fighting and causing more drama than reality t.v could ever bring to your t.v screen? Have you noticed the client retention rate is a big issue? I have worked in several salons over the years and luckily 98% of the ones I worked at were great and pretty harmonious (as much as it can be in a predominantly female environment) but the 2% that caused me discomfort have become etched in my brain…

I am heading back home to London in a few weeks and i have been asked by a company out there to do some research for them in regards to the U.S market. They are thinking of bringing their copyrighted products over to the states ... but prior to any big shipments being made they/I are looking for an overall consensus of opinion.
They have posters for the room (to help hide any of those botched wallpaper blunders!) and they also have client consultation forms for waxing and after care…

Never double dip! By this I mean that if you have stuck the spatula into the wax pot, then applied it to the area/skin to be waxed, the stick should be thrown away in the trash can immediately. Imagine waxing every client with just one stick and you kept double dipping? The tin of wax would have traces of blood, pubic hair, and feces (especially if the client didn’t clean up properly!!) It would be a breeding ground for bacteria, which is extremely unsanitary and not fair on the…
