In home business and building clientele

I'm having a really hard time getting my business off the ground. I'm temporarily working from home doing waxing and swedish massage. I want to know if there are any Estheticians that work from home and have a nice clientele built up and how they achieved it. I have a very small clientele and looking to build. My clients have told their friends and quite some time ago. I had one new client last week that was told about me probably almost a year ago. How long does it take to build a large… Continue

Did you enjoy the IECSC show in Las Vegas?

If you went to the recent Las Vegas show, I would love your feedback and how you enjoyed the show, what did you purchase, was there anything you were excited to learn about there? Did you attend any continuing education classes and if so, were they helpful?

Thanks! Looking forward to hearing from you!

Uncovering the Many Benefits of Marula Oil

As a skin care therapist, I’m constantly reading labels. I read product descriptions and ingredient lists like they were novels. My eyes scan over the often difficult to pronounce ingredients and my brain processes through each one of them in a “This does this, that does that… Oh what’s this?!” sort of fashion, and when I find something I’m unfamiliar with – I research it. Today I’m going to discuss an ingredient that I wasn’t very familiar with until I began working with…

It takes effort to have beautiful skin.

This is a tough time for high-end beauty brands of all sorts. Sales of luxury beauty products have fallen in the U.S. since the recession started, as Americans have traded down to drugstore products or simply bought fewer cosmetics. (Sad.)

Also, American and Japanese women still take sharply different approaches to skin care. Though skin-care…

Eating in harmony with your DNA

Some foods are compatible with your DNA. Other foods aren't. We know from scientific research that our present-day DNA is virtually identical to that of the caveman and cavewoman's. Over seven million years, the foods they ate become compatible with their DNA, which is our DNA today. These foods are called Paleo…

Microcurrent Facelift and Infrared Light Therapy

Microcurrent Facelift

A microcurrent facelift is a non-surgical, non-invasive cosmetic technique that safely and effectively improves the health and appearance of the skin.

A microcurrent facelift can physically firm and tone the skin through muscle re-education. This process of a gentle ‘re-education’ of the fine facial muscles stimulates them with…

Aging is Cellular - and we don't mean from your phone!

It is now known through direct clinical examination that the key to longevity, youth and health is found at the cellular level. Cellular research has demonstrated that aging is more than skin deep, it involves internal, external, and emotional factors.
So, eat well, live well, and be well.

Skin Aging

Great looking skin is smooth, radiant, glowing, firm, unlined and "poreless". The key to achieving this is prevention and early intervention. Skin aging can begin as early as age 25. By 60 skin has thinnned and can no longer fight the effects of gravity. Not only does genetic aging affect the skin, so does sun exposure. Sun exposure can account for as much as 90% of…

The Importance of Double Cleansing

You wouldn’t take a shower with your clothes on would you? No, you have to remove your clothes first before you can wash your body. It’s the same with your face, first you have to remove your makeup and the day’s grime before you can get to the business of deeply cleansing your skin and pores. Double cleansing every evening has been a staple in Asian skincare for years and…

Essential Fatty Acids

Essential Fatty Acids are the building blocks of our bodies’ fats and membranes. They were originally known as Vitamin F.

Your body cannot manufacture EFA’s on its own so they must be gotten from your diet and/or from supplements. Good dietary sources of EFA’s are fresh wild salmon, sardines, and walnuts. Eat them twice a week. Try adding ground flax seeds to your…

The Bathery's Rule About Gloves

Don't forget about your hands. They are always exposed to the environment and are abused by our actions. They are one of the first places aging is seen, along with the neck and décolletage (chest).

In the winter handcream is a must, and so are gloves. Gloves are not just meant for warmth, but also for protection from the elements. You may not get cold hands when…
