Hello everybody! it was nice to come across this website and see everybody talking about one thing, Skin!!

The Best Cost Effective Skincare line for New Business

Hi…In your opinion(s) what’s a great cost effective and great working skincare line to begin a small business i.e. treatment room? I’m looking for a skincare company that does not require a large start up fee and/or an extremely expensive minimal order requirement. Thanks!

make up

I don't wear makeup (or just shadow and mascara). I should wear make up. I hate applying make up on my face. Does this make me look unprofessional as an esthetician and the aesthetic persona of it all, or do I appear more clean and natural beauty? I could use some undereye concealer, but that makes way for foundaion and then finishing powder and now its a daily routine and wearing it all doesn't come naturally so its NOT a 5 minute spuce up... ugh!

New Dermafiles

I'm super excited to say that I am getting to take over as the sole distributor in the U.S for the Dermafiles!! I love these little tools. They are affordable and effective. I would love to see esthetic schools use them and offer them to their students. Anyone just getting started that doesn't have the budget for a microderm machine should have a set of these. Anyone bored with microderm but needs something good for exfoliation should have a set of these. Even if you have microderm, there…

How to choose?

Where you do u guys go to research/purchase new equipment?  I want to expand the facials I offer (looking into microderm, microcurrent, mild lasers) but the price range is extreme and everyone says their machine is the best. I don't know a lot about these machines where can I find unbiased opinions and input.

LED and Microdermabrasion

I recently added LED and Microdermabrasion to my practice.  Has anyone used both modalities at the same time?    Comments welcomed.

Seeking direction to Pursue passion

Hi everyone! I recently completed a masters degree in business and I am looking to pursue skincare as a career as it has been a passion of mine for quite sometime. My desire is to transition from working in a school district as an executive assistant to working in the skincare industry as I return to school for esthetics. I want to position myself to learn about the industry as I attend school. My desire is to become an instructor. Does anyone have any suggestions where to get started? I…

Will the Successful/Positive Estys Please Speak Up!

I just finished writing my latest "Let's Chat" article on my website. It was prompted by an interaction I had with an Esty that made a decision based off of a few negative comments from a few negative people. Isn't it funny... no, not funny but unfortunate, that the negative gets more press than the positive. My guess is that the successful, positive people don't have the time to write about it because they are too busy being successful!

Have a look and let me know what you think:…

How I found my passion

Reading some of the posts tonight has inspired me to share my own tale.

When I started my journey as an Esthetician almost 9 years ago, skin care was never my goal.  I wanted to be a makeup artist in Hollywood.  You may be wondering, why I got an Esthetics License if I wanted to be a makeup artist?  Well, my cousin is a makeup artist in Hollywood, working on all of the big movies and TV shows and she told me that some of her makeup artist friends had their Esthetician licenses so that…

Back in the saddle....

I'm glad the holidays are over!  Don't get me wrong, I love my shop, work and clients, but I turned into a Scrooge by the end of the long days after lashing everyone.

After taking a much needed 15 day break from everything and everyone, I'm happy once again and loving life!

Yup, life is good again....

Carpe Diem!

private label

Hi, wondering if anyone is or has gone through the private labeling process and is willing to share. I am looking for clinical grade efficacy for anti-aging, low minimums ,and good pricing. Any labs you recommend, and any helpful information about the ups and downs would also be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Kathy
