I made the case to physicians for allowing estheticians who are well trained in treating acne to take that caseload off their hands, much like a dentist allows the dental hygienist to do the dental cleanings.

When I decided to create the Se-Brazil wax line I did it based on my experiences with both hard and soft wax. So thats why I always try to create samples so you can try them first and actually see it in action and if it will work for you.
Se-Brazil Blue hard wax launched on July 1, 2012 and the response has been overwhelming. We always give out samples of our hard waxes because I feel its important for a waxer to like the wax they are using, not use it because you…

I just left the hospital after visiting my father, and although I am not in the habit of talking about personal issues on a public discussion forum, I felt compelled to share some thoughts with you all.
Most of you on skincareprofessionals.com are estheticians, and I trust that you know and care how damaging smoking cigarettes can be to the skin. Some of you who have built a close relationship with a client who smokes will, most likely, gently let that client know that smoking…

As Americans eat hotdogs and apple pie, I will be doing the same... spending on the boat, spending time with my "Beloved", my son and his girlfriend on the local lake.
So, everyone, be safe. Don't shoot off fireworks within city limits, don't eat too much, and whatever you do... don't drink warm beer. It's just un~american!…

Hi fellow Estys, I need help and I need your help now!
I’ve opened a skincare studio inside of a salon, and though I knew (from past experience) that business is can be slow during summer months, I never believed that I would totally hit a brick wall.
I’ve introduced myself by putting together gift bags and delivering them to the other stylists and businesses, and I’ve had some to come by, and they all stated that the studio is beautiful and serene. I want to…

This term describes efforts to prevent the spread of diseases as well as killing microbes. There are three levels of control; SANITATION, DISINFECTION, and the highest level is STERILIZATION. While in the workplace, cross-contamination can be prevented by simple steps such as washing yours hands, using latex or non-latex gloves (when preforming waxing services and extractions), safety glasses may even be needed in some cases. Disinfect your station before & after every client- Think…

Well here is something new. .. micro needle rollers We just started using these at the spa and selling them at the distribution center. Wow... they give new meaning to the term "no pain, no gain".. ha, ha. So interesting and we are all seeing the results. Wonder how our clients will react. When we use them on ourselves we control the pressure. We are using the ones with the 540 needles now. They are much more comfortable. Would love to hear what is happening out there…

How do I treat this client and give sound results? I would like to recommend an appropriate product line as well as…

After yet another busy day of Waxing and Lash Extensions, I'm tired. The last Lash client, Amy (names changed to protect the innocent), was nice, pleasant, kept still, professional, and I I applied a full set of lashes. After 2.25 hours, with 78 LPE & LashDip on the lowers, they looked fantastic, if I do say so myself. She was as pleased & happy as pie!
I rebooked her for 2 weeks, collected the $220. (she payed with visa), confirmed she didn't have any questions.... Sounds…

Growing business as an esthetician can be a challenge, and it's important to routinely boost clientele. Some businesses gain more clients by advertising more or by branching out, but the ultimate way to make and keep new clients consistently is to ensure that your service is the best around.
Now that you've received training and a license, it's important to invest in continuing your education. Advanced training saves you time by skipping the learning curve and lets you…
